I truly thought that your choice for your baby was an amazing idea. This baby deserves life and giving it up to adoption was a well thought out plan. But not only did you do that, but you found an amazing mother for your soon to be born child before it was born. Even if things got tough, you gave you baby the best future. Taking care of a child at the age of 16 is incredibly hard. You have no good source of income, security, and many other things necessary for a child. He/she will be in greater hands with a family that has the money to truly care for that child and support it. Your choice was my favorite options but of course there are others. Abortion is a legitimate choice, but it does have a huge negative connotation. Taking the life away from a developing human isn't something that people should do. But sometimes it is necessary but I hope that it is your final choice. Another option is giving up the child for adoption, which you did. But even this isn't a perfect choice. It's not everyday that adults go in to adopt a baby. Ethnicity of the baby also factors into the baby's rate of being adopted. Not many future parents want to adopt a brown or black baby. It's the sad truth. The third and final option is taking care of the child. But in your situation this isn't the smartest choice. You will have financial difficulties taking care of you child. But maybe another women can actually take care of her child because she has the finances to do it. Every mother loves their child and wants them to have the best life they can have. Even if that life doesn't involve them. Even with all these options, it does come down to the women herself. She had the right to choose whichever option she wants. Roe v. Wade gives her the right to have an abortion whenever. But I personally believe it should be done at the latest, a little bit after the first trimester. But sometimes complications occur and hard decisions need to be made to save the child's and/or the mother's life. Aborting the baby is killing a life but not aborting the baby can end in the mother life being taken away. This is an extreme scenario but it can occur. Such as in an article we read where the mother lost her life to give birth to her daughter. With all this information, I still have not given my personal opinion of what I would do. I would follow which ever decision my lover would choose but would explain my personal choice. I would try to give life to my baby. It might not be a happy life with us but I would try my very best to give him/her the happiest life I could give. If I'm not able to do this, then I would be a failure as a father. If all else fails, try to apply to "16 and pregnant."
